Laundry Day

Today's task was to figure out the washer in our flat. Thankfully I had a manual but it was in Slovak so that made me really rely on google translator. But, we were successful with only a minor leak in the back.
Yes, our washer is right next to the tub in the bathroom and the washer drains into our tub. Quite the experience to smell the detergent much stronger in the flat because of this.
Now, another exciting part about the washer was that it is also a dryer. So you might wonder why I still hung our clothes off the balcony. It was a nice warm day today so that meant it was cheaper to do this then use the dryer. ☺️ just taking in all the cultural experiences. Yes, we had to actually go buy clothes pins and for once it was used for clothes instead of a classroom project. 😄

Fitness

Oh man, I'm on day 13 of this challenge and man, it's getting difficult!!
But so worth it! I've been slacking off all summer for one reason or another and it finally hit me that I need to take better care of myself. Hopefully I can make it to day 30...

My husband rocks!

A very typical view while I'm finishing up dinner so that our son won't use the excuse he needs to go potty too early during dinner time. My hubby has been very helpful during this time. Thankful for being able to cook dinner more frequently  without a toddler trying to climb all over me. ☺️

Transitioning

At the beginning of the summer, Theo showed signs of being interested in using the potty. I know it was early but I thought let's try. He has done really well! I mean, we have our accidents here and there but he gets to wear underwear during the day and he has pull-ups on at nap and bedtime. We did things a little backwards though, he was potty trained before ending his nursing time. The thing was that Theo was still nursing 2-3 times a day. A bond that I really enjoyed between Mama and son. Theo loved Mama's milk so much that he did not really want to drink cows milk. The last few weeks, Theo began to drink more cows milk that I began to realize that we need to say bye to Mama's milk. The conversations we were having the last few weeks was that when the rocking chair is gone, so will Mama's milk. Well, the rocking chair was sold on Thursday and therefore things changed the last few days. Dustin has been amazing in putting Theo down for naptime and bedtime so that we can adjust to a new routine between Theo and me. I changed the corner where the rocking chair was to make it a fun corner for Theo. He can read books here or have a picnic with his stuffed animals. Theo is being another rock star with all of this. I on the other hand have had to adjust a little more. I am thankful to Peppermint oil, ice packs, and a little bit of cabbage leaves as well to help adjust with all of this. I hope I can feel normal again soon. I know that my time with breastfeeding has been amazing and that I cannot wait one day to do it again. I am thankful for the milk I was able to produce. For now, I will enjoy the hugs and time that I get with Theo where he wants me to spend time with him.

One step closer...

This weekend is International Weekend at our church and our global outreach director thought it would be a great time for us to be commissioned into the field. We aren't leaving until the summer but this made things so much more real. We are leaving.
We still have a quite a ways to go with support raising and getting our house ready to be on the market. But, in the meantime we are balancing working, raising our very active son, and talking with lots and lots of people.
We are trusting in God in all of this because we can only be sent when He thinks we are ready.
Prayer Request:
- That we can raise the funds to support us monthly.
- We get the house ready
- Continue to understand how to raise our little man

Joy

I decided back in early December that I wanted to focus on things that bring joy into my life this next year and what timing in my decision. These two weeks really have tested me. Between being sick and having a hubby at 2 winter camps on back to back weekends is just not a good combination. I am reminded that I have this little one to keep me busy:
As much I liked the time with him, I sure miss the big man. I miss that I am not part of his memories that he is making with the students. More so this weekend with the high schoolers. Probably had something to do with the fact that I ran a half marathon this morning
(the first since having little man) and had partial communication with the man that I love. At least I had an awesome friend who kept me motivated along the way and a few people texting me while I ran.
But back to focusing on joy. I did scrapbook this evening and was reminded how fun winter break was and all the memories we made there. Now to just figure out ways to extend that joy I felt then into a weekly routine...God will carry me through this, I know He will. Especially with all that entails with our move to Slovakia.
